On the edge of the world-famous Kruger Park in South Africa, the Hluvukane Clinic is a unique animal health center serving the needs of domestic, working and wild animals.
For the next months, 8 idealistic student vets with no practical experience make the tricky journey from books to bush, as they come to terms with the practical, moral and ethical realities of treating animals in a small rural community. They face the responsibility of running the clinic. Working in an isolated area of South Africa with very limited resources, the students are about to find the lives of the animals - and the fortunes of their owners - in their own young hands.
How will they cope? How will the experience shape them? And do they have what it takes to become an Animal Doctor? This series offers a unique insight into life and learning at the forefront of veterinary medicine in tough conditions, with some of the world’s most fascinating animals.
