MIPCOM ’18: TVF, Mediacorp sign first-look deal

16 October 2018

British indie distributor TVF International has inked a two-year first-look deal with Singapore-headquartered media conglomerate Mediacorp.

The deal will include Channel NewsAsia’s Vanishing Foods (8 x 23 minutes; pictured), in which food blogger Aun “Chubby Hubby” Koh seeks out disappearing recipes and culinary traditions; the fifth season of the luxury lifestyle series Luxe Asia (40 x 23 minutes); and Chinese current affairs series The New Silk Road (18 x 48 minutes).

The new arrangement is intended to build on the more than 80 hours of Mediacorp content already repped by TVF, including travel series Aerial Asia, investigative series Undercover Asia, history series The Asian Century and the Mobeen Azhar-fronted current affairs series Power & Piety, all licensed to broadcasters around the world.

The deal was brokered by Julian Chou-Lambert, acquisitions manager at TVF.

“TVF have worked very closely with Mediacorp over the last few years to develop and place their fantastic factual programs across the world,” said Chou-Lambert, in a statement. “The range and quality of their productions, covering everything from global current affairs and insightful history to high-end travel and food, make them a great fit for TVF.”
