Celebrating 70 years since Eleanor Roosevelt announced the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to the world, Sign of the Times sees 12 leading women from the fields of politics, arts, philosophy and law pick up the fight for human rights and propose solutions to the biggest problems facing the planet today.

With threats to peace, security and the planet on the rise worldwide, listening to a female perspective on what has traditionally been a man's world is more important now that ever. Addressing questions of democracy, climate, equality, religion and leadership, we consult a new generation of influential women. What alternatives do they have to offer? What makes them fight for a better world so passionately?

Featuring interviews with renowned public figures such as former president of Ireland Mary Robinson, philosopher and gender theorist Judith Butler, author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, environmental lawyer Polly Higgins and novelist Isabel Allende.
