This is the story of Ernie Paerata: former prison officer, soldier and poet. A man who had an unblemished personal history until 10 years ago, when he suffered a mental breakdown. In 1991 Ernie Paerata was caught at Bangkok Airport with 425 grams of heroin. He began a thirty year sentence in Klong Prem, one of the world's toughest prisons, known as the Bangkok Hilton.
