Japan's Indo-Pacific Plan

2 X 48 HD
Broadcaster:  CNA

This series investigates Japan's Indo-Pacific Plan as this country aims to bridge the Pacific and Indian Oceans by investing in infrastructure projects across South-East Asia.

Travelling the region, we see the plan in action in several countries. From road and rail networks in Vietnam to flood mitigation in the Phillipines, we are given a behind-the-scenes view of the projects' development as we learn about the real reasons behind Japan's ambitious plan.

With exclusive footage, this series shines a light on whether this immense investment plan is an alternative to China's Belt and Road initiative as well as probing the current state of relations between the two major powers. Will these two Asian giants cooperate or compete?
