Bay of Blood: The Bangladesh Genocide

2 x 50 / 1 x 96 HD

The first ever full-length documentary on the tragic events of 1971, in which the citizens of East Pakistan were the victims of a genocide carried out by their own military.

Up to 3 million people were killed, 400,000 women and girls raped and 10 million displaced to India as refugees in the violence. As the West watched on and refused to intervene due to Cold War tensions, India, pressured by the millions of refugees within its borders, joined forces with local rebels and went to war with Pakistan.

Interspersing never-before-seen archival footage with eye-witness accounts and expert interviews, this powerful film unravels the truth about this atrocity and the ensuing war that led to the creation of a new nation – Bangladesh.
