Mandate for Murder: Britain's Struggle in Palestine

1 x 56 HD 4K

Set in the shadow of the Holocaust, Mandate for Murder: Britain's Struggle in Palestine takes place in Mandatory Palestine in 1947 during Britain’s administrative rule, which was being threatened by a terror campaign led by Jewish insurgents that claimed the lives of hundreds.

This documentary explores the unexpected murder of a Jewish teenager, which became an international scandal. Exposing the shady cover-up by the British in the final years of the British empire, the film provides an insight into why Britain lost Palestine and how this led to the hastened establishment of the State of Israel just a year later.

The story, told through the testimonies of living witnesses, archive footage and dramatic reconstructions, is one of violence, secret police units, cover ups and expediency and casts a light on Britain's legacy in the Middle East.
