Tucked between immense sand dunes and salt marshes sits the desert resort of Qasr Al Sarab.
The hotel resembles an ancient Arab fortress, with stone towers, large trellises, and water features. Qasr Al Sarab is the only structure for miles and is almost entirely self-sufficient. It recycles all of its water, has its own treatment plant, and even grows fruit and vegetables in a desert greenhouse. In 2022, this hotel was voted the most sustainable resort in the world.
