Portugal's Most Remote Hotel

1 x 26 HD 4K

Casa de São Lourenço, situated atop the Zêzere Glacial Valley, is one of Portugal's pioneering hotels. After falling into disrepair, the sleeping beauty lay derelict for years until 2018, when Isabel Costa and her husband João Tomás stumbled upon it and decided to rescue it.

The couple's primary focus was preserving the rich history of the original structure and its seamless integration into the surrounding landscape. The serene mountain resort has a unique vantage point, nestled in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Nature Reserve, and boasts some of the country's highest elevations. In the winter, it is  graced by snowfall.
