1 x 50 HD
Broadcaster:  Channel 4

When Apollo 11 landed on the Moon, it was seen by a global audience of 650 million and instantly regarded as man’s greatest achievement. But secrets behind this feat remain hidden from history, until now.

In one of the most controversial operations in 20th century history, Operation Paperclip, 1,600 former Nazi scientists were pardoned and brought to the USA, where they were recruited to develop rockets and beat the Soviet Union in the Space Race. Their records were whitewashed and dark pasts obscured. Their carefully structured operation was ultimately victorious, but what price had to be paid in order to gain the upper hand in the Cold War?

With exclusive footage from NASA and investigations into contentious characters such as leading German rocket scientist, Wernher von Braun, known as the 'father of space travel'. Nazi Space Race tells the incredible true story of the Moon landings and the Nazi engineers who made it possible.
