Plastic Tsunami: Voices of the Pacific

1 x 60 HD

In the Pacific Islands - where communities have relied on the sea for survival for generations - a new tide is coming.

Plastic waste carried by global currents is washing ashore, on some of the world’s most remote coastlines. Communities who have contributed least to the plastic pollution crisis are now confronting its consequences daily. This film gives voice to the resilient Chiefs, Elders and community leaders organising grass roots beach cleans, finding natural alternatives to plastic, and searching for solutions to save their coastlines. But with 90% of plastic on their shores is coming from international waters, they can't do it alone.

This urgent documentary follows community leaders on a mission from the Pacific to the UN, to save their islands from a plastic tsunami.
