TVFI scores Scandinavian sales

Factual distributor TVF International (TVFI) has sold a raft of documentaries and series to Scandinavian broadcasters.

The deals include the Channel 4 doc Nazi Space Race (1 x 50 min., pictured) from Unity House Productions, which was sold to SVT, YLE and Viasat World among other broadcasters. Viasat also licensed the Channel 4 doc 24 Hours That Changed the World (2 x 47 min.) from Like a Shot Entertainment for Viasat History, and for its Explore channel, it licensed season eight of ITV’s Monster Carp (4 x 60 min.) and three seasons of The Grand Fishing Adventure (12 x 60 min.).

Swedish pubcaster SVT has licensed France TV’s Ulysses: From Myth to Science (1 x 60 min.) and Great British Train Journeys from Above (4 x 47) from TVF Productions. SVT also acquired The Resurrection Quest (4 x 47 min.) from Singaporean pubcaster CNA.

Swedish channel Axess TV acquired Will’s Book: Shakespeare’s First Folio (1 x 60 min.) and Van Gogh by Vincent (1 x 60 min.) from Unity House, France TV’s Maria Callas: The Unsung Greek Years (2 x 60 min.), Jim Al-Khalil’s Guide to Life, the Universe and Everything (2 x 50 min.), The Psychedelic Frontier (1 x 44 min.), Bay of Blood: The Bangladesh Genocide (2 x 50 min.) and Theodor Herzl: The Man Who Made Israel (1 x 60 min.).

Swedish pubcaster UR, meanwhile, picked up BBC’s Secrets of the Brain with Jim Al-Khalili (2 x 60 min.) and Norwegian pubcaster NRK acquired Arming the Arctic (1 x 51 min.) from Wildcat Films and TVF International, which TVFI also sent to Finnish pubcaster YLE; and Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre (1 x 52 min.) from Gebrueder Beetz for the BBC.

Denmark’s pubcaster PR acquired The Lost World of Angkor Wat (2 x 60 min.) and Lost Treasure Tombs of the Ancient Maya (2 x 47 min.), both from Windfall Films for Discovery Science, and TVFI also sent two seasons of TVNZ and Netflix’s disability dating series Down for Love (10 x 46 min.) to TV2 in Denmark.

Lastly, Finnish pubcaster YLE licensed the BBC’s investigative special Stacey Dooley: Growing Up Gypsy (1 x 60 min.).

All deals were brokered by Ben Nohr, TVF’s senior sales and acquisitions executive for Europe.
