In Myanmar's lawless and war-torn border areas a vast and illicit drug trade is destroying countless lives and devastating local communities.
Myanmar is the second largest producer of opium in the world and the export of hard drugs like heroin and methamphetamines brings in millions of dollars used to sustain a civil war that has continued for decades. Kachin state is facing a heroin epidemic that has destroyed a generation, spread disease and divided communities. With drug production backed by the government army and their militias and ignored by local authorities, civilians have decided to tackle the problem themselves and a fast growing movement of Christian vigilantes is fighting back against this deadly trade.
Drug Vigilantes follows these militant law enforcers on their search for drug addicts, dealers and druglords, into a chaotic world of addiction, fear and violence.
