In her quest to be "super white", 27-year-old Lavin Galicha spends 30% of her salary on skin lightening products like soaps and lotions. But she wanted to whiten fast and resorted to an injectable drug meant for cancer patients - glutathione. Health authorities do not approve glutathione injectables for use as a skin lightener, yet Lavin has been administering it on herself thrice a week for the past three years.
Now even medical professionals want to cash in on the trend, what can be done to stop this dangerous trend?
