With ransomware attacks on the rise around the world, we follow the story of a hospital in Japan who have their data stolen and encrypted before hackers demand a large ransom fee to for the data.

Through stylized reconstructions and interviews with the people working to defend against the attacks, as well as the victims, we follow the blow-by-blow series of events as they unfold. As cyber security professionals scramble to restore back-ups and mitigate damage, we learn how the hackers operate and what the devastating consequences of these attacks can be.
