What Scientists Are Seeing Over Greenland

Greenland – the land of Ice. But how is what’s happening hear allowing climate change to cause drastic sea level rises of several metres, flooding entire cities and vast areas of land around the world.

 

The overwhelming majority of Greenland’s surface is covered by an ice cap which is several miles deep, concealing a hidden world of mountain ranges beneath its surface. For scientists, this natural features allows them to study the history of the planet and the rise of living organisms by analysing the ice layers, which can also shed light on climate change and how the melting of the ice caps.
